This blog is now six months old, and I have been indulging myself in a long flashback, going over music that used to excite me way back when. And that’s fine, I guess. But I wanted to reassure you that I listen to up-to-date music, as well. So here is Chicago’s own Frank Catalano and his band. They just came out with their latest CD last year. It is still on the Billboard charts.

Note to Larry and Lisa: This music has a lot of notes, but none of them are extraneous.

Here they are at the Green Mill in Chicago performing Mighty Burner, the song that “thrust him into the national spotlight and brought critical and popular acclaim, as the album [Mighty Burner] debuted at # 11 on the Billboard sales chart” (Wikipedia):
